120 days before the European Indoor Championships first athletes started applying for the competition. Exactly 50 athletes that have the qualifying time can apply for the Championships. Competitors must be minimum 16 years old to apply, except in shot put where minimum age is 18. Each country is allowed four athletes per discipline and maximum three of them are allowed to compete. The application deadline is 3rd of November.

Taking in mind that many national federations are interested in competing at this event we can expect to see the record of participants at European Indoor Championships easily beaten. Considering also the capacity of Belgrade’s Kombank Arena, we can expect to have a new Athletic Indoor record.

European Athletics Indoor Championships will take place in Belgrade’s ‘Kombank Arena’, from 3-5 March 2017. Around 10.000 guests and more than 1000 athletes are expected to arrive in Belgrade during the competition.
