Following axceptional results of Serbian athletes at the European Indoor Championships in the Czech Republic, the Serbian prime minister Aleksandar Vucic held a reception for them.
The long jump medal winner Ivana Spanovic and shot-put medallist Asmir Kolasinac, accompanied by the Athletic Federation of Serbia’s president Veselin Jevrosimovic, secretary general Slobodan Brankovic and Coaches Nikola Tomasevic and Goran Obradovic were present.
The Serbian prime minister thanked Kolasinac and Spanovic for the medals they had won for Serbia. He added that they were the pride and joy of Serbian athletics.
“You have made great sacrifices and they had to pay one day – you made athletics, one of the basic and most widespread sports branches, the queen of sports,“ Vucic said.
As a token of appreciation, Vucic presented Spanovic with a book „Serbia – an apple of Gold“and Kolasinac with a necktie.
Our champions thanked the prime minter on his support over the years and announced new medals in the future.
